Three million undeclared workers. This is not insignificant, 12.5 per cent of the total number of regular employees. One can console oneself with the news that the figure is stable.

Total undeclared work is worth 200 billion and grew by 9.6 per cent. The part related to illegality is about 20 billion and is also stable.

The data are for 2022 and this type of statistics is always a biennium late.

What is new is that undeclared work is increasing among professionals and now accounts for 30.5% of the added value of the entire sector.

In general, the incidence of irregular work remains most significant in the tertiary sector (14.6%) and reaches particularly high levels in the Other services to individuals sector (39.3%), where the demand for non-regular work services by families, carers and domestic helpers is concentrated. The presence of irregular workers is very significant in Agriculture (17.4%), in Construction (12.4%) and in Trade, transport, accommodation and catering (14.5%).
