The Social Hub - the Group that launched hybrid hospitality in Europe - will open two new locations in Italy, respectively in Florence Belfiore and Rome San Lorenzo (doubling its presence with four hubs in total, with those already active in Florence Lavagnini and Bologna), and will land in Portugal with a first location in Porto, in the first half of 2025. The brand will expand its property portfolio to a total of 21 hubs - integrating short and long stays for travellers, digital nomads and students with coworking spaces and events - in 19 European cities.

The new facilities in Florence Belfiore - the second opening of The Social Hub in the city - and Rome San Lorenzo confirm BCorp's commitment to sustainability through the realisation of regeneration projects, which help to breathe new life into urban spaces open to the public and to give them back to the local community.

While, with the opening in Porto, in the heart of the country's second largest city, The Social Hub lands in Portugal with an offer that further evolves the concept of hybrid hospitality, through a pilot project that will integrate serviced apartments solutions for long-term stays.

It opens on 1 February 2025 with bookings from this December 2024. The centrepiece of the structure is the 7,000 square metre roof garden terrace, much of it accessible to the public via an external staircase in the heart of the San Jacopino district. In addition, with 80 thousand square metres of total space, the structure includes 550 rooms, coworking spaces for over 600 people, restaurants, bars, meeting and event spaces, an Olympic-size swimming pool on the roof, a shopping boulevard, and a neighbourhood garden. Located close to the city centre and strategically linked by means of transport, such as the new high-speed train station opening right in the Belfiore district, the structure will become a place of innovation and meeting not only for the inhabitants, but also for entrepreneurs, students and tourists.

Scheduled to open in the early spring of the new year and with bookings already available from January 2025, The Social Hub Roma will cover an area of 24 thousand square metres, a 10 thousand square metre public park - which will be the epicentre of the hub - and 392 rooms, in the San Lorenzo district. It is designed to be 'a district in the city' that embodies the spirit of the iconic Ex-Dogana. The three main facilities comprise a new contemporary building and renovated spaces that already house the Accademia Italiana institute (a campus dedicated to fashion and design) and an outdoor events area. In addition, there is a rooftop bar and swimming pool overlooking the Eternal City, restaurants, a modern coworking space for 160 people and additional meeting and event areas. The contemporary architectural style was designed to give new impetus to an area known for its thriving vitality and propensity for experimentation.

With an estimated opening in spring 2025, The Social Hub Porto, with a floor space of 11,000 square metres and 310 rooms, will be located in Bonjardim, in the heart of Portugal's cosmopolitan city centre, just a few steps away from Avenida dos Aliados and Bolhão Market. Its strategic location will also make it an important hub for the community given its proximity to the University of Porto and the thriving business district. Features of the facility will include a rooftop bar and swimming pool, a wide selection of food and beverages, coworking spaces with a multimedia studio, as well as meetings and events. In addition, The Social Hub will launch a pilot project at the Portuguese location and will also provide 39 fully equipped residential flats to rent for longer periods.

"Our new hub in Rome, the second one in Florence and the debut in Portugal," said Marion Koopman, chief operations & commercial officer of The Social Hub, "represent key milestones in the development of the brand. They will be a huge asset to their communities, and will bring a unique model of hybrid hospitality to newly redeveloped public facilities. Our goal is to connect our diverse audiences, including travellers, students, business people and locals, in all three cities. We look forward to opening our doors".
