"We have a buyer for TikTok", said US President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News. The tycoon had postponed the deadline for the sale of the social network from mid-June to 17 September. 'This is a very wealthy group of people,' he further said, adding that further details will be given 'in a fortnight'.
This, linked to the Chinese messaging system, is one of the news items Trump gave on Sunday. The US president also touched on the subject of tariffs and the war in the Middle East.
On tariffs Donald Trump made it clear that 'after China and the UK we are working on agreements with other countries'. And on the possibility of a new extension to the 9 July deadline he clarified: "I don't think there is a need. I could do it but I don't think there will be a need'.
Canada hostile country
The White House tenant's team "is sending letters to nearly 200 countries affected by the measures" trade. "So far we have signed agreements with China and Britain, we are working on agreements with all other countries," he added.
The US president was particularly hard on neighbouring Canada, which he accused of being 'a very hostile country'. Any negotiations on tariffs between the US and Canada "will remain on hold until Ottawa agrees to lift some taxes," the US president said.
