Timbaland has decided to fully embrace artificial intelligence. The famous American producer and rapper has announced the birth of TaTa, the first artist created entirely by an AI platform. TaTa is a girl with oriental features, pink hair and a future to be generated. She is not just a virtual generated voice: for Timbaland, she is a real artist, with her own personality and her own story: an A-pop. The voice was born during a session on Suno, a platform that generates music via text prompts. There, Timbaland heard something that struck him out of thousands of generated voices after a few sessions.

From the collaboration with Suno to the birth of Stage Zero

Timbaland is not new to the use of AI in music: he has been experimenting with Suno for years, and has also been a strategic partner of the platform since 2024. Together, they launched Love Again, a song that was released as an exclusive pre-release on Suno's website. But the real leap comes with the founding of Stage Zero, Timbaland's new company that aims to create artificial artists. The voice, the image, the character and the entire musical production: everything is designed and generated. TaTa is the first creature of this vision. She has not yet released an official single, but her debut is expected soon. Timbaland speaks of her as an artist capable of learning, evolving and living from music. Not just any avatar, but a figure capable of establishing a real bond between her and her future fans.

The music industry between revolution and risk

AI is changing the rules of the game. Record labels can now create customised artists, modelled on the trends and tastes of the public. It is a huge opportunity: more access to music creation, reduced costs, more experimentation. But there is no shortage of risks. Originality is harder to define, copying styles is easy and quantity risks taking precedence over quality. Already in concerts, AI is catching on in the visual part, but we are very close to holograms and digital voices. Meanwhile, Timbaland has made his choice: to lead and ride innovation instead of fearing it. With TaTa and Suno, he tries to prove that artificial intelligence can be a creative tool, not a threat, a way to expand human creativity.
