Thirty days, approximately, to close the Tiscali game. The telecommunications company founded in the 1990s by entrepreneur Renato Soru and now at the centre of a dispute that, amidst redundancies and takeover proposals, is playing its last cards for salvation and relaunch.
On the table, for the time being, is the offer of the Ligurian company Canarbino for a business branch lease aimed at the acquisition for which the board of directors of Tesselis, the parent company of Tiscali, in recent days has expressed a further positive opinion. Specifically, the board of directors at its meeting on 30 March, as stated in the company's official press release, "resolved to accept a supplementary offer received on 29 March 2026, relating to the binding offer concerning the B2C business unit of Tiscali Italia, transmitted by Canarbino S.p.A. on 1 March 2026".
30 days for new offers
Not only that: on 31 March the Notice of Solicitation to Submit Improved Offers. "On 31 March, as part of the negotiated crisis settlement procedure initiated on 1 March 2026," continued a final company note, "a single competitive procedure was called for the lease of the licence and the subsequent purchase of certain business units. There are 30 days for the submission of any further offers.
The Region in the Field
Monitoring the dispute is now also the Region, which on 1 April with President Alessandra Todde and Councillors for Labour Desirè Manca and Industry Emanuele Cani met with the trade unions. Regional President Alessandra Todde guaranteed 'the commitment to continuous coordination in order to be able to deal in the best possible way with the new buyer in the interests of the workers and at the same time to request, together with the Puglia Region, a meeting at the Ministry on the national dispute'. For next week, a meeting has been announced in the offices of the Department of Labour of Canarbino and Tiscali to deal with the dispute as a whole.
Lightening procedure closed
From the unions, at the end of the meeting with the company, an invitation to 'a sense of responsibility to save a company that is also the heritage of the whole of Sardinia'.
