Tiscali, the sale of the B2C business unit to the Canarbino Group confirmed
For part of Tiscali, the telecommunications company founded by Renato Soru in the late 1990s and now part of the Tesselis group, a new era is beginning. At the Mimit meeting, which was also attended by the trade unions and the region, the cessation of the B2c part of the company was confirmed to the Canarbino Group.
A perimeter of 600 workers
The operation, as Mimit points out, will be formalised through the subsidiary Smeraldo, 'for a total employment perimeter of about 600 workers'. The Canarbino Group, active in the energy sector, "is thus preparing to enhance the consumer perimeter, with the aim of doubling its overall workforce thanks to the integration of these activities, extending its business also to telecommunications networks".
Clear way from the Court of Cagliari
The sale was approved yesterday by the Court of Cagliari in a dedicated hearing. The leasing of the business unit will become operational as of 1 June. Also under consideration by the Ministry and the Region is the uninvolved part of the Tiscali company. 'The project involves a total of 563 workers nationwide who will be absorbed by the new company,' the Region recalls. In March, the redundancies declared by Tiscali-Tessellis numbered 180 out of a total of 729 workers nationwide. On the other hand, 47 workers at the Canarbino Group's headquarters in Sardinia, as well as two journalists, are currently excluded from the acquisition process'. The company also announced that 10 out of 12 journalists have accepted the redundancy incentive.
