From today new cigarette increase

Further price increases for cigarettes, cigars and cut tobacco will be triggered as of today, 15 April 2026, as an effect of the measures ordered by the government through the Budget Law 2026. An increase from 10 to 50 cents per type of tobacco including individual packets of cigarettes for which the increase is up to 30 cents.

The price increase will not stop in 2026 but will be progressive and continue until 2028.

Here are the brands that increase from today, they are 36 out of 299 (12%).
1) all three models of Davidoff by 30 cents;
2) all four models of Gauloises by 20 cents;
3) all 14 models of John Player Special, from 10 to 30 cents;
4) all four models of Mademoiselle by 20 cents;
5) the one model of News red of 30 cents;
6) all four models of Peter Stuyvesant of 30 cents;
7) all six models of West of 20 cents;

The manoeuvre - recalls the Assoutenti association - provides for a gradual increase in the years 2026-2028 of the fixed minimum amount of excise duty on cigarettes, cigarillos and cut tobacco, and redetermines the coefficients for calculating the excise duty on heated tobacco products.
