Tokyo Stock Exchange: Nikkei index closes at 57,434 points, down 5.96 per cent
Seoul also suffers on concerns over AI investment
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The Nikkei index and Seoul’s Kospi closed the week with a fall of around 6 per cent, in the wake of Wall Street’s slump and amid concerns over the outcome of the US mid-term elections, which could slow investment in data centres dedicated to artificial intelligence. The Nikkei ended Friday’s session down 5.96 per cent, closing at 57,434 points. The Kospi fell by 6.02 per cent.
