Tokyo Stock Exchange: the Nikkei index closes down 0.02 per cent
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The Tokyo Stock Exchange closed lower. Sentiment was weighed down by fears over rising energy costs, following overnight increases in oil prices. The Nikkei 225 index closed down 0.02 per cent at 69,030.92 points.
Doubts over the sustainability of massive investment in artificial intelligence and the rise in global bond yields have also put Japanese equities under pressure.

The shares that recorded the biggest losses were those in the electrical equipment, retail and electronic components sectors.
The Topix broad-based index rose by 0.33 per cent to 4,104.81 points.
