To celebrate its first 60 years, Tombolini organised an event in the Roman amphitheatre not far from its factory in Colmorano, in the municipality of Urbisaglia. "We are immersed in history and beauty, between the sea and the mountains, and the colours and shapes of our land are our inspiration," says Silvio Calvigioni Tombolini, sales, marketing and communication director of the company founded in 1964 by his grandfather Eugenio and born as a tailor-made garment manufacturer. Not by chance, it was called 'Urbis'.

Tombolini does everything in his factory: that is where the (Italian) fabrics and other raw materials arrive, that is where they are packed, packaged and shipped to the world, since 75% of the turnover is generated abroad. 'Ours is true Made in Italy, a formula that is too often misused,' the entrepreneur emphasises. If even those who do a small part of their production in Italy can adopt it, for those like us it is a detriment. Staying 60 years in the same territory means being consistent, making sacrifices, overcoming complicated phases, like the Covid one. But today there is great satisfaction, because we have also been able to enhance our heritage and know-how'.

Although it is a historical company in the area and in the sector, Tombolini firmly focuses on research and innovation: "In 2011 we started producing the collection that has become our symbol over time and that today covers 70% of our production, namely Zero Gravity, characterised by the lightest garments in the world. - He continues -. Its success derives from knowing how to respond to the needs of customers, who are increasingly looking for quality, tailoring, together with comfort and versatility when dressing. The capsule collection launched for our 60th anniversary focused on super-lightweight fabrics in cashmere and silk and at the next edition of Pitti Uomo (scheduled from 14 to 17 January 2025, nda) we will also bring another innovation, namely the lightest dinner jacket in the world, to allow one to be comfortable even on occasions of extreme formality'.

This lightness is also a response to the changes that climate change imposes on wardrobes, and which leads the Marche brand (which is aiming for revenues of 20 million euros in the next two and a half years) to be increasingly appreciated in the Middle East, for example: 'In the next few years we will invest in the Emirates, Arabia, and Jordan. Over the past year and a half, we have opened two single-brand stores in Kazakhstan, as well as one in Doha for the last World Cup. We have also renewed our concept store, strongly emphasising our ties with Italy, also by bringing in the extra virgin olive oil that we produce on our farm,' adds Tombolini, who in Saudi Arabia recently signed an important agreement with Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr team coached by Stefano Pioli, the latest in a long list that has dressed Tombolini and his Tmb Running sportswear line over time.

The foundation's 60th anniversary also marked the start of an important project also dedicated to the territory, the Eugenio Tombolini Foundation, which is based in the factory and will host a tailoring school: "At the beginning of 2025 we will start by bringing the youngest children closer to the world of work, taking them to visit the company, in complete safety, to show them what their parents do," Tombolini notes. It is a way to make them understand that the factory is not a place to keep away from, but that it can be a channel of knowledge and a source of inspiration, as it has been for me and my family".

The Foundation will also offer sports courses to young people and families who do not have the opportunity. In addition to the 'green' ones, which are affecting the company's headquarters and its products (e.g. with recycled and recyclable fabrics), these are also investments in true sustainability.
