Aldo Spinelli had 'occupied the Carbonile areas. We did not have a dossier on him. We certainly did not know all the facts that Spinelli did, but we were aware of his squatting of the areas'.
This was said by Giovanni Toti, the shipowner Gianluigi Aponte during his hearing in the public prosecutor's office as a person informed of the facts.
The Campania-born entrepreneur cites as the source of this information Matteo Catani, CEO of Gnv.
The entrepreneur had ended up in the interceptions of the Ligurian prosecutors' proceedings. On record is an extracted dialogue, his harsh outburst with the then president of the Port Authority, Paolo Emilio Signorini (who is also under house arrest after more than two months in prison, ed.)
"Here I learn that practically his organization has decided to give another 14,000 square meters to Spinelli ... and in short, if you want to give him the entire port of Genoa - he said without knowing to be heard by the investigators - in short, and we are watching, but in short, the thing begins to become a bit 'indecent. And again: 'That's enough now, I tell you the thing is going to end badly because now or you give me this space or else I'll really sue you all, that's enough now because I'm annoyed here let's say kindness is taken for stupidity ... in short, it is indecent what is happening to our group, it is not acceptable is a lack of respect,' he thundered.
