Toyota Yaris Cross, how it changes with restyling
What has been renewed is above all the front end, which now adopts a honeycomb pattern, while the only engine available is the most powerful one, with 131 hp based on the 1500 cc full hybrid. It will be on sale from September with orders opening in May for list prices to be defined
Key points
The Toyota Yaris Cross 2026 gets a makeover especially in the aesthetics with styling that echoes that introduced by the new Rav4. The most obvious changes concern the front with the grille that is split and the lower part thinner, while the upper part has a honeycomb texture in the same colour as the bodywork. The headlights have also been updated: they are still LED, but now include daytime running lights. The rear is unchanged, but the design of the wheels up to 18 inches changes. Finally, the most powerful engine is unique, the 1.5 full hybrid's 131 hp for 0 to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds, CO2 emissions between 100 and 107 g/km and average consumption of 4.4 and 4.7 l/100 km.
The GR Sport variant with a stiffer stance remains available
With the restyling also comes a new colour, bronze, offered with a contrasting black roof and pillars. In terms of equipment, the GR Sport has been confirmed at the top of the range and can be recognised by the new front bumper, the design of the wheels and the badges on the bodywork. The trim is also a little stiffer to offer very involving road behaviour.
Compared to the current Yaris Cross, some fundamental elements of the design remain unchanged, starting with the dimensions: the length is still 4.18 metres, with reduced overhangs that on the one hand make the best use of interior space and on the other ensure good driving visibility.
More elaborate interiors with varying elements
One of the essential novelties is the crossover look: the ground clearance is 16 cm to facilitate manoeuvring in the city, the wheel arches are in contrasting plastic and there are roof bars.
Inside, the updates concern, above all, finishes and details that are more refined. Some of the upholstery has changed, the type of seats available in both standard and sports versions, and the ambient lighting, with all elements varying depending on the trim.
