All the fault of the nail. Almost a refrain to justify the "Black Wednesday of transport on the tracks" that highlighted the problems affecting the railway system on the national scene. It all started with a fault in an electrical cabin that powers the circulation systems in the Rome node and made it impossible to use the others in the stations of Roma Termini and Roma Tiburtina (from 6.30 am to 8.45 am).
The accumulated delays that affected the whole of Italy, especially the high-speed lines, exceeded even 260 minutes, several trains were cancelled and there were chain delays from Naples (120 minutes), to Bologna and then to other stations and lines in Italy.
Today, Thursday, on the other hand, a tarpaulin, probably due to the wind, ended up on the train overhead line on the Rome-Civitavecchia route at Santa Severa. Possible delays of up to two hours and cancellations of runs were reported.
News that adds to a summer characterised by delays on Italian railway lines, where at the moment there are an estimated 1,400 active construction sites.
Company suspended
Meanwhile, the Italian Ministry of Economic Development has announced that "any activity between Rfi and the company involved on the Parco Prenestino - Roma Termini railway line, where there was damage to the line with consequences for train circulation, has been suspended". A measure adopted "after the necessary verifications".
