From transparency to the net/gross pay gap: your payslip explained by the experts

The first pay slip transparency requirements came into force in June. They are designed to ensure equal pay for workers performing the same duties and are this year’s main development in the area of salaries. It is therefore these requirements that open the 2026 edition of *Il Sole 24 Ore*’s Guide to Pay Slips, alongside the rules on transparency in recruitment. The rules are explained by experts from both the employer’s and the employee’s perspectives.
The Guide also covers topics on which it is always important to stay informed and up to date. This includes explanations on how to read your payslip and how to understand the difference between gross and net pay.
The Guide is a 56-page booklet and will be available at newsagents with *Il Sole 24 Ore* on Friday 24 July, at a total price of 3 euros.
