Treccani Festival in Lecco: the power of dialogue in telling the story of the Italian language
Once again this year, Lecco, from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th September, will host the final event of the 9th edition of the Treccani Festival of the Italian Language, organised by the Treccani Cultura Foundation, which this year offers a reflection on the value of dialogue, understood as a means of exchange and connection and explored across various fields, from literature to philosophy, art to music, and from science to law
The Treccani Festival of the Italian Language returns to Lecco again this year from 25 to 27 September for its final event, featuring three days of talks, lectures, workshops, presentations and performances
Once again this year, Lecco, from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th September, will host the final leg of the 9th edition of the Treccani Festival of the Italian Language, organised by the Treccani Cultura Foundation, which this year offers a reflection on the value of dialogue, understood as a means of exchange and connection, and explored across various fields, from literature to philosophy, art to music, and from science to law.
The Festival – organised by the Treccani Cultura Foundation and Lecco Town Council – will open on Friday 25th at 3.30 pm in the conference hall of the Palazzo delle Paure in Lecco, in the presence of Mario Romano Negri, President of the Treccani Cultura Foundation, Filippo Boscagli, Mayor of Lecco, and Attilio Fontana, President of the Lombardy Region.
Next, the philosopher Laura Boella will speak on *Bodies and Minds in Dialogue*; whilst the literary critic Giulio Ferroni, professor emeritus of Italian literature at Sapienza University of Rome, will explore the relationship between the present and memory in the session *Dialogue with the Past: Is it still possible?*
Among the speakers at the events open to the public were also the linguists Valeria Della Valle and Giuseppe Patota, scientific directors of the *Nuovo Dizionario dell’Italiano Treccani 100*, with their talk *In dialogo sui dialoghi*; Andrea Moro, linguist and neuroscientist, and member of the Accademia dei Licei, with the lecture *A Blue-Eyed Bat: Lucretius, Atoms and the Alphabet*; Stefano Bartezzaghi and Paolo Di Paolo, who will lead the session *Puzzles in the Exam Papers*.
