A red, green and blue colour scheme that pays tribute to the three host countries, Canada, Mexico and the USA. Fifa unveiled Trionda, the official ball of the 2026 World Cup - Italy is playing the qualifiers - , which celebrates the first time an edition hosted by three countries. A "brand new four-panel structure with fluid geometry reproduces the waves referred to in the name of the ball, which come together to form a triangle in the centre of the ball, in reference to the historic union of the three host nations," Fifa points out.
"Iconography representing each host country adorns the ball, with the maple leaf for Canada, the eagle for Mexico and the star for the United States, while gold decorations pay homage to the World Cup Trophy.
The ball is equipped, as it was for the 2022 World Cup, with Connected Ball technology, featuring a state-of-the-art 500 Hz motion sensor chip that provides detailed information on every element of the ball's movement. This technology sends precise data to the referee video assistance system in real time, improving the referees' decision-making process, including in relation to offside incidents.
"It is a marvel," the enthusiastic comment of Gianni Infantino, Fifa president.
