Triumph has unveiled two new models in its Modern Classics family: the Speed Twin 1200 my24, revamped in terms of chassis, engine and instrumentation, and an all-new Speed Twin 1200 Rs (both coming in January 2025, at 15,000 and around 17,000 euros respectively).
In detail, the new Speed Twin 1200 now sports Marzocchi forks and rear suspension with separate reservoir and adjustable preload that improve the bike's handling, offering a more immediate ride. Power output of the twin-cylinder engine also increases, gaining 5 hp and peaking at 105 hp at almost 8,000 rpm. The ABS and traction control, both with cornering function thanks to the inertial platform, protect the rider from errors.
Changes have also been made to the model's ergonomics: the Speed Twin 1200 features higher and more advanced handlebars than the previous model, a slimmer and more sculpted fuel tank and a seat redesigned to be lower and more sculpted, in line with the bike's sporty styling, as well as narrower at the front.
The interface with the rider is provided by new LCD and Tft displays set in a classic circular dial with turn-by-turn navigation compatibility and phone connectivity. The new Rs version, on the other hand, has a more sporty inspiration: repositioned handlebars, set-back footpegs, two-way electronic shift assist as standard, fully adjustable suspension, Brembo Stylema brake calipers and Sport riding modes in addition to Road and Rain, also available on the basic version. Further distinguishing mark of the Rs is the seat, which features a sporty nappa leather finish with contrast stitching.
