Trump: deal with Pfizer, will sell drugs at reduced prices

"I'm here to announce that one of the biggest and best pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer, will offer discounts on prescription drugs sold in the United States." This was announced by US President Donald Trump from the White House, stating that "the United States has paid sometimes ten times more than other countries for many years" for the same product and stressing that this measure will save "taxpayers and consumers hundreds of millions of dollars".

"Pfizer is committed to offering all of its prescription drugs to Medicaid," he added, referring to Medicare for the lowest income earners, "and that will have a huge cost impact like nothing else. Trump added that Pfizer will sell some of its most popular drugs to all consumers at discounted prices, which will be available for sale online on a site run by the federal government, called TrumpRx.
