Even Truth, Donald Trump's social network, succumbs to the allure of generative artificial intelligence. The platform has launched an experimental version of Truth Search Ai, a search function based on the chatbot of Perplexity, a start-up competing with OpenAI. As is the case on the Elon Musk-owned social X, which integrates Grok to answer questions, create photos and videos, on Truth it will be possible to use the integrated chatbot to obtain answers that are a mix of news obtained on the net and posted on the platform. The Verge website reportedly conducted some tests with the tool, stating that it 'seems to selectively draw from conservative media'.
The agreement between Truth and Perplexity goes beyond mere technological relevance, given that one of the biggest investors in the artificial intelligence start-up is Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon. As a note from Trump Media, the company that develops social Truth, explains, Search AI will launch first on the web version, to land on iOs and Android in the near future. "We are excited to partner with Truth Social to bring powerful artificial intelligence to an audience with important questions," said Dmitry Shevelenko, chief business officer of Perplexity. As Engadget recalls, in the recent past Perplexity has faced several accusations of copyright infringement, plagiarism and 'scraping' websites, i.e. unauthorised extraction of data from online portals, to train its artificial intelligence models.
