Donald Trump invests at least 51 million in diversified bonds in March, including municipal and corporate bonds

The President of the United Statesi Donald Trump made bond purchases of at least 51 million dollars in March, according to financial statements released by the Office of Government Ethics. The documents indicate a total of 175 transactions between purchases and sales, without specifying precise amounts but only ranges of value.

The bulk of the portfolio consists of municipal bonds issued by states, counties and school districts, often linked to public entities or public-private partnerships. The 26 largest transactions, each between USD 1 million and USD 5 million, predominantly involve these types of bonds or US Treasury securities.

Alongside these, investments in corporate bonds and more diversified financial instruments. Transactions include purchases of corporate bonds from companies such as Weyerhaeuser and General Motors, as well as an exchange-traded fund (ETF) linked to a high-yield bond index.

Corporate investments are spread across several strategic sectors, from energy to technology, from healthcare to financial services. Among the issuers are groups such as Constellation Energy, Occidental Petroleum, Broadcom, Nvidia, Meta Platforms, Microsoft and the major Wall Street institutions such as Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase, as well as aviation giant Boeing.

Considering all asset classes, the total maximum value of Trump's bond purchases in the analysed period could reach up to about USD 161 million, confirming a broad and diversified allocation strategy.
