The majority of voters who followed the televised debate chose Kamala Harris as the winner. This is according to an instant poll conducted by CNN/Ssrs. In the poll, 63% of those who watched the debate - a group that is not representative of the electorate as a whole - said that Harris prevailed over the former president. Only 37% said Donald Trump won the debate. The result is noteworthy because before the televised challenge, a similar poll had given both candidates an equal chance of winning the debate. The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 5.3 percentage points.
The results diverged sharply from the June debate between Trump and President Joe Biden. A flash poll conducted immediately after that debate had shown that two out of three voters who had followed the challenge had picked Trump as the winner, with only a third siding with Biden.
Meanwhile Truth, Trump's social media, sinks on Wall Street after the debate. Trump Media & Technology Group loses 10 per cent at the close of trading.
Donald in trouble attacks Abc
Externals contradicting each other, a certain nervousness. This is the image Donald Trump offers the day after his TV debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump claimed to have won ''by far'' last night's debate on ABC with Harris. It was his ''best debate ever'' even though it was ''largely rigged'' by Abc, the former president said when interviewed by Fox and Friends. Trump then accused Harris of telling 'outright lies'.
Trump pointed the finger at Abc. "They kept correcting me," the Republican candidate claimed, "a lot of things I said were debunked" while Harris "could say anything he wanted." Trump then accused the Abc of being "the most dishonest news network" claiming the debate was against him. "They should take away their license for the way they handled" the debate and "I think they lost a lot of credibility," he continued.
