"I would love it if Putin and Xi came to the G20 in Miami." Donald Trump said. "I could invite them as observers, I don't know if they want to be observers though," the US president added.
Next year's G20 will be held in Miami, Florida, Trump announced, pointing out that the US had not hosted that summit for 20 years.
Donald Trump said he will "think quite a bit" about whether to invite Russia to next year's G20 in Miami. "I will think about it," he responded to a question from reporters in the Oval Office by announcing that he will not go to this year's summit in South Africa. In his place will be Vice President Jd Vance.
As Bloomberg and CNN had anticipated in July, Trump announced that the 2026 G20 in Miami will be hosted at his golf club, where he had wanted to host the G7 summit in 2020. The event, he explained, will be hosted at one of his family's properties, the Doral hotel and golf complex: 'We will not make any money from it,' he clarified.
