Two Italians among Europe's best fleet managers
Stefano Palma of Chiesi and Luca Mancuso of Schindler were awarded for their respective companies' electrification and sustainability strategies.
These are the European fleet managers who have most distinguished themselves over the past year for their ambitious goals and medium to long-term vision, but also for the changes they have already implemented in the service of their companies' mobility. Important goals celebrated at the latest Fleet Europe Awards, the culmination of the Fleet Europe Days, the most important continental event dedicated to the sector.
Among the award winners were two Italian fleet managers, responsible for the management of large fleets, who shared a path of fleet transformation under the banner of a decisive emissions reduction strategy. It was Marta Romaniuk, Global Category Manager at Becton Dickinson, who won the coveted title of Global Fleet Manager of 2025, while Michael Albert, Global Fleet Regional Lead Europe at Pfizer, was awarded European Fleet and Mobility Manager of the Year.
The jury recognised the merits of global fleet transformation strategies, without forgetting the focus on cost efficiency and operational excellence. The same parameters were also used to reward the two Italian fleet managers who, despite having made considerable progress on electrification in their fleets, already agree on the need to increase their efforts in 2026.
"For his outstanding leadership in driving a globally aligned, sustainability-focused fleet transformation," Stefano Palma, Head of Global Mobility at Chiesi Farmaceutici, was awarded International Fleet Innovation Manager of the Year. Responsible for the management of 2,600 vehicles worldwide, Palma was distinguished for his clear targets to reduce fleet emissions: a 90% cut by 2030 (taking 2019 as the base year).
"I am very proud, because all the effort we have put in over the past year has been recognised,' Palma said, also announcing that 'The goal for next year is to grow on electrification and convince our drivers to switch to 100% electric cars.
