Two new sections in the municipalities of Jesolo and Cavallino Treporti open to transit, and the Venice-Trieste Ciclovia takes a further step towards completion in the Veneto region, scheduled for spring 2026.

The project

.

It is one of ten cycle routes of national interest, "five of which cross our Region," emphasised the vice-president and councillor for Infrastructure and Transport, Elisa De Berti, at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on the morning of Monday 28 July - a total of 415 kilometres for an investment of around 150 million euro, "confirming the strategic role of Veneto in promoting sustainable mobility," she added. Once completed by Veneto Strade, the operational arm of the Region, the Ciclovia will connect Venice to Trieste along a route of about 280 km, about 120 of which in Veneto, crossing two regions and 32 municipalities, 10 of which in Veneto. From next year, moreover, once the Treviso Ostiglia route is also completed, it will be possible to ride the entire route from Trieste to Ostiglia, passing through Treviso and the Sile Greenway, without ever getting off the bike: an important result for soft mobility and cycling tourism in our territory'.

The opening to transit also entailed the signing of the minutes of the provisional handover to the municipalities of Jesolo and Cavallino Treporti of two sections of the second lot of the Venice-Trieste Ciclovia.

"In detail, the two new stretches of cycle path open to transit in Jesolo, from the border with Musile to the existing section in Via Cristo Re, alongside the Pioveselle canal, and in Cavallino, near the Treporti fort, approximately 6 km long for an investment of approximately 2 million euros, are part of the second section, which will connect Torre di Mosto to Venice, passing through, in addition to the municipality of Torre di Mosto, the territories of Ceggia, Cessalto, San Donà di Piave, Musile di Piave, Jesolo and Cavallino Treporti," the vice-president pointed out. It is now possible to get to Ponte della Vittoria in San Donà, from Punta Sabbioni, to Cavallino, passing through Jesolo: a safe and scenic connection for residents and tourists alike, thanks to an infrastructure with a European outlook, integrated into the national network of cycle-tourism routes and designed to enhance the coast and the hinterland in a sustainable, cultural, environmental and economic way".
