Two schools from Vicenza and Turin on the podium of the FANUC 2026 Olympics

In addition to the prizes for students and schools, the best teams gain access to WorldSkills Piemonte, a competition valid for qualification to the European robotics championships EuroSkills Düsseldorf 2027 and of which FANUC is global partner and sponsor for the 'Robot Systems Integration' category.

1st prize: CIAC of Ciriè (TO) - Daniele Pagin and Loris Sollazzo

2nd place: CIOFS-FP Piedmont - Tommaso Arrobbio and Yehor Smirnov

3rd place: IPSIAS 'Di Marzio - Michetti' of Pescara - Alessio d'Armi and Lorenzo Del Biondo

For them, a set of prizes in recognition of the skill they showed in solving the competition tests and the recognition of being the top three best Italian teams in CNC programming.

Very high participation for this edition of the FANUC Olympiad. 40 selected schools representing the excellence of Italian technical education challenged each other in tests that involved the execution of robot handling tasks with the generation of a virtual twin (digital twin) and the ISO standard programming of a machining centre to perform a milling operation. Remarkable was the level that the competing schools achieved, also thanks to the FANUC-Sanoma skills certification path dedicated to robots and CNCs.

"With this experience, we wanted to remind the students that getting involved and pursuing their dream allows them to reap emotions that will accompany them throughout their lives and throughout their professional growth," comments Mirko Cazzaniga, Education Business Developer at FANUC Italia. "The Olympics are a moment of great celebration, made possible by the enormous enthusiasm for industrial automation shown by the students and also by their teachers".

The FANUC Olympiad is a fun educational competition designed by FANUC Italia as part of the FANUC Education programme, aimed at the world of technical and professional schools. The initiative offers students a unique opportunity for field training, through the performance of theoretical and practical tests aligned to the highest international standards, and celebrates the talent and passion of Italian students. The practical tests were conducted on the operating cells prepared by FANUC and Sanoma, which are modelled on the Educational Laboratories developed for schools and in use in the competing schools.
