Ukraine: Kremlin opposes energy truce; stance remains unchanged
Putin is meeting Witkoff and Chinese Premier Li Qiang today
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - "Moscow’s position on an energy truce with Ukraine has not changed: the Russian Federation needs peace, not a truce". This was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, according to reports by the Tass news agency. “It is impossible to fully resolve the Ukrainian conflict without the involvement of someone in Kyiv. Someone there must take a responsible decision,” Peskov added. A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff is scheduled for today in St Petersburg. Peskov also announced that Putin will meet China’s Premier Li Qiang later today.
