Kremlin: Russia-Ukraine-US negotiations in Geneva on 17 and 18 February

A new round of negotiations between Russia, the US and Ukraine will be held on 17 and 18 February in Geneva, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced, quoted by the Ria Novosti news agency. The Russian delegation will be led by presidential advisor Vladimir Medinsky.

Moscow, along with the negotiations, continues the bombardment. Russian troops attacked one of the ports in the Odessa region with drones, killing one person and wounding six others. As Ukrinform reports, Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba announced this on Facebook. "Russia has inflicted massive attacks on port and railway infrastructure," Kuleba noted. In the Odessa region, the Russians hit one of the ports with drones. One person died and six others were injured. Three of the injured are in a serious condition. All have been provided with medical assistance. They are all exclusively civilians, Kuleba stressed.

The company's infrastructure, fertiliser stores and vehicles, including freight cars, were damaged. A fire broke out. The consequences have been resolved and all specialised emergency services are at work on site, Kuleba further informed. In addition, during the day, the Russian army carried out drone attacks on the railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region. No persons were injured. The damage did not affect traffic, Kuleba stressed. "The enemy is deliberately and systematically attacking Ukraine's logistical infrastructure, what connects the country, ensures exports, business operations, supplies to the regions and the vitality of frontline communities," the deputy prime minister noted.

On the other hand, three people including a woman and a 12-year-old child were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Russian region of Volgograd that also caused significant damage to a private home, Governor Andrey Bocharov was quoted by the Tass news agency as saying.

"The war in Ukraine: it is terrible. People are suffering. It is the coldest time of the year'. Marco Rubio said this while speaking to reporters in Munich. The US Secretary of State also anticipated that he will meet Volodymyr Zelensky. "Wars are bad and that's why we've been working so hard for over a year to try to end this one," Rubio added.
