Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he wanted energy sanctions against Russia to be reinstated following the US-Iran ceasefire agreement that reopened the Strait of Hormuz, vital for global energy supplies.
"A ceasefire is now beginning in the Middle East and the Gulf. And I expect the sanctions on Russian oil to be fully restored, as they were before," Zelensky said in statements to reporters reported by international media.
Two killed in Russian attacks on Dnipropetrovsk region
Two people died and three were injured in the Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk following Russian attacks. This was reported on social channels by the head of the regional state administration, Oleksandr Hancha, according to whom 'the enemy struck three districts of the region almost 30 times with drones and artillery'. Meanwhile, Putin declared a ceasefire for Orthodox Easter.
Iran: Zelensky confirms involvement of Ukrainian forces
Military personnel from Ukraine shot down Iranian-designed Shahed drones in several Middle Eastern countries during the Iran war. Zelensky gave this first public confirmation of Ukrainian operations on Wednesday, in statements to reporters that have been embargoed until today. Zelensky said Ukrainian forces took part in active operations abroad using domestically produced and battle-tested interceptor drones.
