Ukraine: Zelensky to Trump – with a 60-day ceasefire, we will organise elections

‘It is up to our people to choose their leader’

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - “With all due respect to President Trump, it is up to our society, our people, to choose their own leader.” This was how Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview on ABC’s “This Week” programme, responded to the remarks made by the US President, Donald Trump, who had called for a change of leadership in Kyiv. “Please tell Putin that if he guarantees a total ceasefire for two months – 60 days – we will organise elections,” he added.
