Ukraine: Yandex data centre in Russia hit by drones. Moscow responds with air strikes on Dnipro
A drone attack has brought a major Russian data centre to a standstill, whilst Russian air strikes in Ukraine have caused casualties and significant damage in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions
The data centre of Russian tech giant Yandex in the Vladimir region has been damaged by a drone attack and its operations have been suspended, according to the Russian state news agency TASS, which cites the company itself. “Following a drone attack, the infrastructure of Yandex’s data centre in Vladimir has been damaged. Operations at the data centre have been completely suspended. There are no reported casualties,” the statement reads. Emergency services are already on the scene.
“We consider the configuration of the remaining resources to be unstable. The platform is currently operating in emergency mode,” the company adds.
Russian raids on the Dnipro region: 11-year-old boy killed
A child has died and five other people, including two children, have been injured in Russian drone and missile attacks in the Dnipropetrovsk region last night, according to regional authorities. The attack targeted the village of Pokrovske, in the Nikopol district, according to Ukrainian media reports citing regional officials.
A 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy are among the injured and have been admitted to hospital along with a 47-year-old man and two women, aged 49 and 61. Russian forces attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 30 times yesterday using drones and artillery, according to Governor Oleksandr Hanzha. In the Nikopol district, the attacks damaged residential buildings, a petrol station and an ambulance. Russian raids also struck the community of Zelenodolsk, in the Kryvyi Rih district, damaging private homes and infrastructure. In the community of Mykolaiv, in the Dnipro district, vehicles and agricultural machinery were damaged.
