Uncle Scrooge returns to the pages of Il Sole 24 Ore and it is a return characterised by financial education. After all, finance and economics are very present in the adventures of the entire Disney family of ducks, indeed they represent a narrative mechanism often used in comic strips. And enhancing their 'educational' side was a natural choice for Il Sole 24 Ore, today as much as 30 years ago.

The new four-volume series "Uncle Scrooge's Economy. Disney's Manual of Financial Education", coming out on Saturday with Il Sole 24 Ore, has been realised in collaboration with the Disney division of Giunti Editore and with the support of FinanzaInsieme.com, a free web platform open to all, created by Intesa Sanpaolo to approach financial topics in a conscious and simple way.

If the financial education of the youngest has always been a mission for Il Sole 24 Ore, in recent years the newspaper has intensified its commitment in this sense even further by launching various initiatives for the financial literacy of young people, starting with the video series 'Young Finance" - which have become a podcast, a book and a tour in schools - to the volume "Capire l'economia (e non solo) con Il Sole 24 Ore" to the drafting of the Manifesto di Educazione Finanziaria in 10 punti presented at the Trento 2023 Festival of Economics. Not to mention the popularising role the newspaper plays on a daily basis in describing, analysing and explaining the economic and financial events that affect and involve its readers.

Deeply convinced of the importance of teaching financial education in primary and secondary schools, Il Sole 24 Ore, with this new series, aims to unite the younger generation and parents through the adventures of Uncle Scrooge and the Disney gang, which behind the laughter and daily challenges often conceal precious life lessons. Each of the four volumes will, in fact, propose a cartoon story of Uncle Scrooge and the contents of Financial Education of Il Sole 24 Ore, accompanied by a final glossary and an "Investi-test" to test the knowledge just learned in a fun way. An initiative that revives an analogue joint publication by Disney and Il Sole 24 Ore that in the 1990s succeeded in telling BoT people about economics and finance.

"We are particularly satisfied with the collaboration with Giunti to give life to a new initiative that sees Il Sole 24 Ore and Disney characters together in a financial education path that allows you to learn while having fun, thanks to the magic and humour of the Disney world, mixed with educational concepts crucial to everyday life signed by Il Sole 24 Ore" declares Karen Nahum, General Director Publishing & Digital of Il Sole 24 Ore.

"Uncle Scrooge" returns as a valuable testimonial to literate new generations towards responsible financial behaviour from an early age. The comics and editorial insights in these manuals stand out for their immediate and fresh communication, capable of making an apparently complicated subject pop. A not-to-be-missed tool to understand more about how to manage one's assets, in an engaging read, capable of creating a bridge between adults and children, as only Disney art can do." comments Veronica Di Lisio, Head of Disney Division - Giunti Editore.

The new series was also born with the support of Finanza Insieme, a free web platform open to all, created by Intesa Sanpaolo to approach financial issues in a conscious and simple way. "With this initiative we want to bring closer to financial issues all those who feel the need to acquire greater awareness, whether they are young or even more mature, in order to make decisions with greater serenity. For Intesa Sanpaolo, financial inclusiveness is a fundamental value to make people more aware and therefore freer in the choices they make in their daily lives," comments Tiziana Lamberti, Head of Sales & Marketing Wealth Management & Protection at Intesa Sanpaolo.

The work plan

.

The first volume of the Handbook, 'ABC, basic concepts', available on newsstands with Il Sole 24 Ore from 2 March, introduces readers to the fundamental concepts of economics. From simple barter to complex online financial transactions and digital payments, Uncle Scrooge and his companions guide readers on a journey through the history of money and its importance in our everyday lives. Wondering what money really is and why we need it becomes the starting point for an exciting exploration.

In the second volume, "Savings and Management", out on 9 March, the focus shifts to the concept of savings and its importance in managing personal finances. Through the adventures of Uncle Scrooge, readers will learn that saving is not just a matter of putting money aside, but also of managing it wisely to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future.

The third issue, 'Spending and Consumption', on newsstands 16 March, deals with the theme of spending and consumption, with an emphasis on economic sustainability. In a world increasingly aware of the environment and responsible consumption, Uncle Scrooge guides us in understanding how our spending choices can affect not only our wallets, but also the planet around us.

Finally, the fourth volume, 'Investments and Planning', available from 23 March, introduces the world of investments and financial planning. Through the adventures of the Disney protagonists, you will learn how to make wise choices to grow your savings and secure a future full of opportunities. Whether the reader is a curious child or an adult eager to deepen their financial knowledge, this series is the ideal companion along the path to greater financial awareness and a more secure and prosperous financial future.
