A three-year welfare plan and the goal of achieving gender parity for Unicalce, Italy's leading producer of lime, dolomitic lime and derived products, a group from Lecco that employs 480 people in 11 plants throughout Italy. With a female workforce of less than 30%, the company is on course for equality certification. A first step towards a welfare and organisational wellbeing plan that will have the allocation of an equal budget for each worker and the possibility of converting the result bonus into an additional welfare budget to which the company will add another 10%. To these amounts are added extra platform services, in particular long term care policies, pension and health funds. In this path, which began in 2023, Unicalce, after a second-level agreement that provided for the distribution of 258 euros per employee, this year grounded a long-term vision for human resources management with the allocation of 400,000 euros and the will to continue developing the project next year.
"People are our company's main asset and our main goal is to create a working environment where each individual feels listened to, valued and supported," Unicalce CEO Luca Negri points out. "Investing in people means investing in the company's future, generating a virtuous circle of care and loyalty. Workers who feel valued and supported tend to invest in turn in the company, contributing to its success and growth'.
The group enlisted Walà's support in designing all the initiatives, starting with listening to and identifying the needs of employees. In this way, the foundations of the welfare project were laid, ranging from equity and inclusion, social sustainability, diversity and connection with the territory.
