Distinguishing features: certified general contractor and Esco (energy service company) that embraces the principles of sustainability. We are talking about Uniko, which since June 2023 has also been a benefit company, ranked seventh among Growth Leaders 2025. Founded in Orte (Viterbo) in 2009 as a retailer specialising in high-end doors and windows, step by step it has expanded its range of action. "In 2011," says CEO Francesco Pecci, "we decided to create a construction area to support the sale of windows and doors. And four years later, an in-house design studio was set up, which completed the range of services offered and allowed us to specialise and establish ourselves in the field of energy requalification'. In 2018, the company is involved in reconstruction projects in the municipalities damaged by the earthquake in Central Italy. The pandemic is not holding back development: from 1.6 million in revenues in 2020 to over 85 million in 2023, 'thanks also,' says Pecci, 'to the invoice discounts provided by the various bonuses'.

At the same time, the number of employees is growing. In 2021 there were twenty, today there are about 80: engineers, architects, designers and sustainable building professionals, but also legal experts and accountants 'to present ourselves on the market as a unique interlocutor and distinguish ourselves from the competition'. The range of activities spans from the energy requalification of companies to the renovation of public buildings, such as schools, in projects financed by the NRP to residential construction sites. "We have always had a social vocation,' says Uniko's CEO, 'and the decision to become a benefit company was a key step. The ESG principles guide all our choices: this is why we decided to entrust our general manager Antonio Oretti with the role of sustainability manager'. Looking to the future, he concludes, 'we are concentrating our presence in the field of public procurement. For the next three years we intend to expand this asset and increase our involvement in the construction of large photovoltaic plants, further strengthening our position in the renewable energy sector. We are also in negotiations for two acquisitions, one in the North and another in the South, in order to establish ourselves as one of the leading Italian players in the sector'.
