UniMarconi brings the university to the streets: on 26 September, the AI will be visiting twenty towns

Twenty Italian town squares, one theme: artificial intelligence. On Saturday 26 September 2026, “Knowledge Belongs to Everyone – A Lesson in the Square’ returns on Saturday 26 September 2026. This national project sees the Guglielmo Marconi University take university lecturers out of the campuses and into town squares, theatres, libraries and council chambers across twenty municipalities from north to south.

Following the first edition, the second will focus on a single theme: the impact of artificial intelligence on work, professions, training, decision-making processes and institutions. At each stop, UniMarconi lecturers will engage in dialogue with managers, professionals and representatives of institutions in sessions open to the public, with time set aside for questions – rather than traditional lectures.

Some events will also explore the theme through the prism of creativity, sport, cultural tourism and the promotion of local areas, depending on local characteristics.

The twenty municipalities involved are: Albino (BG), Ardenno (SO), Atripalda (AV), Campora (SA), Capalbio (GR), Casalpusterlengo (LO), Dro (TN), Fai della Paganella (TN), Forio d’Ischia (NA), Forte dei Marmi (LU), Lignano Sabbiadoro (UD), Montecosaro (MC), Montefiascone (VT), Pompei (NA), Rotonda (PZ), San Severino Marche (MC), Scandicci (FI), Sessa Aurunca (CE), Terricciola (PI) and Todi (PG). The events are free of charge and open to the public, with venues and times varying from town to town.

Vice-Chancellor Marco Abate explained that the university has chosen to focus on artificial intelligence because it is a subject that affects everyone’s daily life, with the aim of providing tools for the informed use of technology. Chairman Alessio Acomanni added that the initiative brings together academic knowledge, the professional world, institutions and citizens to help people understand the changes currently taking place.
