Unipol: first-half profit up 42% to 1.06 billion with BPER
Revenue up 3.9% to 9 billion. Capital gain of 211 million from SpaceX
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Unipol closed the first half of the year with a profit of 1.06 billion (up 42 per cent year-on-year), “including the contribution from its associate Bper” up to 30 June. ‘Reported’ profit, which takes Bper into account only up to the end of March, stands at 913 million (+46.8 per cent), whilst the net profit of the insurance group alone is 1.04 billion (+41.1 per cent). The combined ratio stands at 91.8 per cent, “in line with the targets set for the end of the strategic plan”, and the solvency ratio at 259 per cent (290 per cent for the insurance group alone). During the half-year, direct insurance premiums amounted to approximately 9 billion euros (+3.9% compared with the figure normalised to 30 June 2025), of which approximately 5 billion in the Non-Life sector (+3.6%) and approximately 4.1 billion in Life (+4.4%). In detail, the Motor segment recorded premiums of €2.4 billion (+6 per cent), the Non-life bancassurance channel €346 million (+10.1 per cent) and the Health business €691 million (+4.1 per cent). The results were also boosted by ‘the capital gain arising from the valuation of the SpaceX share, totalling 211 million, before the related tax effect’.
