United Kingdom, Prince Andrew will lose his royal title
The king's younger brother will also have to move from the Royal Lodge to a private residence
Buckingham Palace has announced that Prince Andrew, King Charles III's younger brother, will lose his royal title and leave the Royal Lodge. "Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor," the note reads. "His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove Prince Andrew's style, titles and honours. His lease at the Royal Lodge has so far afforded him legal protection to continue to reside, but he has been formally notified to return the property and will move to another private residence. These measures are deemed necessary, despite his continued denial of the allegations against him," it further reads. "Their Majesties wish to make it clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathy have been and will continue to be with the victims and survivors of any form of abuse.
A few weeks ago Andrea had already had to renounce her other royal titles, including that of Duke of York. The decision came after a series of revelations that had accused Andrea of having had relations with Jeffrey Epstein, although the prince has always denied any wrongdoing.
According to reports by the BBC, Prince Andrew will move to a private estate in Sandringham, Norfolk, the upkeep of which will be paid for by the king.
