US: 162,000 new jobs in August, exceeding expectations; unemployment remains steady at 4.1 per cent

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - August employment figures in the United States were significantly better than expected. Last month, 162,000 jobs were created (excluding the agricultural sector) compared with the previous month, whilst analysts had expected 53,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.1 per cent, in line with expectations.
