US: 29,000 new jobs in September, below expectations; unemployment rises to 4.2 per cent

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Disappointing September employment figures in the United States. Last month, 29,000 jobs were created (excluding the agricultural sector) compared with the previous month, whilst analysts had expected 84,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate rose from 4.1 per cent to 4.2 per cent, against expectations that it would remain at 4.1 per cent.
