US: CENTCOM announces the end of the naval blockade of Iranian ports
The US armed forces have announced the lifting of the naval blockade that had restricted maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports. This was announced by Centcom (United States Central Command) in a post on X.
"Today, US forces have lifted the blockade on all maritime traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, in accordance with the President’s directives," the statement reads.
According to Centcom, US forces “are not hindering the passage of ships to or from Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman” and “all US military enforcement activities have ceased”. “Our warships will remain in the area to ensure that all aspects of the agreement are respected and remain fully in force,” Centcom emphasises, however.
