US dollar ends year with worst performance since 2017
The US dollar is set to end the year with its worst performance in seven years, measured against a basket of competing currencies.
The ICE US dollar index rose 0.2 per cent on Wednesday in the last trading session of 2025, but has fallen 9.2 per cent since the start of the year, making it the worst annual performance since 2017, when it fell 9.9 per cent, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Right now it takes $1.174 to buy one euro.
