US: house sales up 3.8% in May, exceeding forecasts

In the United States, the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) house sales index rose by 3.8% in May compared with the previous month, reaching 76.8; expectations had been for a 1% increase. The index rose by 4.8% year-on-year.
