US: Producer prices unchanged in July; year-on-year rate falls to +4.7%
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - In July, producer prices in the United States – according to data released by the Department of Labour – remained unchanged after falling by 0.3% last month. Expectations, however, had been for a rise of 0.2%. Compared with the same month in 2025, prices rose by 4.7%, against expectations of 4.9%. The ‘core’ component – which excludes the most volatile components, namely food, energy and commercial services prices – rose by 0.2%; compared with the same period last year, it rose by 4.2%. Both figures were in line with expectations.
