US Ambassador to Israel: 'Violence against Palestinians in the West Bank is terrorism'
At least four people were killed in a new air raid conducted by Israeli forces in the south of the Gaza Strip, in the area of Khan Younis
At least four people died in a new air raid conducted by Israeli forces in the south of the Gaza Strip, in the Khan Younis area. This was reported by the Palestinian Civil Defence, explaining that three people died in an air raid conducted on a house in the Bani Suheila area, east of Khan Younis. A source at the Nasser hospital told al-Jazeera station that a fourth person was killed by an Israeli drone in Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis.
Palestinian medical sources also reported that 28 people were killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza on Wednesday, which according to the Israeli army occurred after militants opened fire on troops near Khan Younis. Seventeen of the victims were women and children, the medical sources reported.
Meanwhile, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee called the latest wave of violence by Israeli extremists against Palestinians in the West Bank 'terrorism', but insisted that the perpetrators are a small number and that Israel is addressing the issue. "I think there is an escalation," Huckabee added in an interview with NewsNation's Elizabeth Vargas Reports. "Israelis can also do terrorism. But most of these people are not actual settlers living there.... They are a very small number, mostly young, angry and disgruntled. They are delinquents. Many of them do not even live in Judea and Samaria (West Bank, ed). They come there to create havoc'. Huckabee noted that the settler attacks have been condemned by Israeli leaders and that Jerusalem is committed to bringing those responsible to justice. There have been a number of arrests in recent days following repeated attacks involving over 100 Israeli extremists, but no charges have been filed and many of the suspects have been released.
Hamas: "Idf over 300 metres yellow line in Gaza City"
The Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) "advanced" in eastern Gaza City moving "about 300 metres" beyondthe "yellow line", which should not be crossed, initially established in the last ceasefire agreement: this was stated in a statement by the Hamas-controlled government of the Strip, reported by Al Jazeera, speaking of "new violations" of the truce.
According to the same note, as a result of this incursion, dozens of Palestinian families living in the area would be 'besieged' by military forces. For its part, the Israeli army has not confirmed such movements. Instead, in a note taken up by The Times of Israel, the IDF reports that it found a missile launcher "aimed at Israeli territory" in the area of the 'yellow line' under its control, during control activities. In addition, the military also discovered, in a parallel operation, "a large weapons cache" containing "automatic rifles, grenades and other explosives".
