US: Supreme Court allows Lisa Cook to remain at the Fed. Decision on ius soli due tomorrow
The Supreme Court has refused to hear Trump’s appeal against the writer Carroll. Crucial decisions on citizenship by birth and the rights of transgender athletes in the United States are due tomorrow
The Supreme Court’s decision ‘to uphold the lower court’s order and to reaffirm the need for a proper hearing and reasoning recognises that the Federal Reserve’s independence is essential to the fulfilment of the mandates entrusted to it by Congress’. This was the comment by Fed Board Governor Lisa Cook on the Supreme Court’s decision, which allowed her to remain in her post, rejecting Donald Trump’s attempts to dismiss her.
Trump refuses to back down on the Cook case: ‘We will take immediate action’
Donald Trump, however, is not giving up. “The Cook case, concerning his suitability to serve on the Federal Reserve Board, has been adjourned by the Supreme Court on purely procedural grounds,” the tycoon wrote on Truth. “We will immediately take the necessary steps to ensure that someone who has committed offences does not make decisions vital to the well-being of the United States of America!” Trump added in his post.

The US Supreme Court has also upheld the jury’s verdict that Donald Trump sexually assaulted the writer E. Jean Carroll and defamed her, thereby paving the way for her to receive $5 million in damages from the president. The judges refused to hear Trump’s appeal, without issuing any comments or recording any dissenting opinions.
Trump scores major victory in the Supreme Court over presidential powers
The tycoon, meanwhile, finds consolation on another front. ‘A great victory has just been secured at the Supreme Court in the case’ of Rebecca Slaughter : ‘The President’s power, under Article II, to remove executive officials and representatives or members of agencies appointed by him has been confirmed’. Donald Trump made this statement on his social media platform Truth, referring to the Supreme Court’s decision allowing him to sack Slaughter, the former head of the FTC, overturning a legal precedent that had stood for almost 100 years. ‘This decision has long been sought by presidents since the 1930s. It is a great honour to be in office and to have secured this historic and unprecedented ruling, one of the most important ever handed down on the subject of presidential powers,’ Trump emphasised.
“As proof of the importance of the Slaughter case, ninety years of precedent have been completely and unequivocally overturned, significantly increasing presidential power at precisely the moment when it is most needed,” Trump added in a series of posts on his social media platform Truth regarding the Supreme Court’s various rulings.
