USA, Francesca Albanese again on the sanctioned list
Trump administration hits back at UN rapporteur for Palestinian territories after measure suspended
The United States has once again listed Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories who had harshly criticised Israel, as a sanctioned person. In recent days the sanctions had been lifted in response to a judicial order, but the Trump administration had made it clear that this was a temporary measure.
Just a few hours ago in Milan, presenting her latest book La luce del risveglio, published by Rizzoli, Albanese had spoken on the Italian situation: "It's time to oppose the war-mongering culture that is taking over the country, the Constitution has protected us but it's being bludgeoned out, there's a minister who sends an order to avoid discussions at school on the Palestine because there has to be a contradiction but think of the contradictory nature of the reasoning, it's as if an expert on paedophilia were to confront one in favour. And I hope not to read tomorrow that Albanese compared Jews to paedophiles...'.
