US: Rubio discusses possible Trump-Putin meeting in China during talks with Lavrov

Zelensky could be invited to the G20 summit in Miami

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a brief meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. According to Reuters, the talks centred on the possibility of US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin meeting in China in November, during the APEC summit. Rubio also said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could be invited to attend the G20 summit scheduled for December in Miami, should US President Donald Trump consider that his presence might lead to ‘something positive’.
