"Today I signed a decree allocating an additional 45 million for sports equipment. Aware of the importance of sport for the training of young people, we have launched the largest investment plan in sports infrastructure ever made in Italian schools: almost 1 billion euro in gyms, of which only 300 million are Pnrr funds'. These are the words of Giuseppe Valditara, Minister of Education and Merit.

Sport combats dispersion

.

"Sport, with its different disciplines, helps young people to grow, to overcome school drop-out, promotes inclusion, teaches healthy and positive values. This is precisely why we wanted to reinstate the Youth Games, to rekindle enthusiasm for sport in our schools, among our young people".

For Valditara, 'the Italian school is worth a lot, young people are worth a lot, and we want to valorise sporting activity in order to build the future,' said the MIM holder, during the parade of the regions at the national stage of the Youth Games.

Another 150 million for recreational activities during the summer

"We have earmarked an additional 150 million, on top of the 400 million we allocated last year for recreational activities in schools in the summer. Sport represents a world of fundamental values such as respect for others and respect for rules. It also means hard work, merit and commitment to achieve results. Sport teaches how to get back up, the school must teach that when you fall you can get back up and that defeat can be the antechamber to victory,' Valditara concluded.
