Vannacci: in Futuro Nazionale four more deputies from Fi and Lega and already 94,000 members
At a press conference, the Fn leader also outlined the party's programme for the assembly scheduled to take place in Rome on 13 and 14 June
Key points
It is official: four more deputies are joining Futuro Nazionale, two from the League and two from Forza Italia. With Roberto Vannacci, the Calabrian Domenico Furgiuele and the Venetian Gianangelo Bof have joined Roberto Vannacci, while Davide Bergamini (already a transfugue from the League to Forza Italia) and Attilio Pierro have joined Futuro Nazionale. This was announced by Roberto Vannacci himself at a press conference at the Hotel Principe di Piemonte, in his hometown of Viareggio (Lucca), where he also illustrated Futuro Nazione's programme in view of the assembly scheduled to be held in Rome on 13 and 14 June, emphasising that 94,000 members have already been reached. Also present at the press conference was Emanuele Pozzolo, deputy of Futuro Nazionale, who ended up off the road with his SUV in the Biella area with a blood alcohol level that was allegedly double the permitted level.
National Future newcomers and the assembly in Rome
"Four deputies join us today and espouse our project. They will be MPs Davide Bergamini, Attilio Pierro, Domenico Furgiuele and Gianangelo Bof. With them, Antonio Maria Rinaldi, a former MEP, also joins Futuro Nazionale," explained Futuro Nazionale leader and MEP Roberto Vannacci at a press conference in Viareggio, in the province of Lucca, pointing out how "we have 94,000 members, the party has started, no one is stopping us any more". '6 June marks the landing in Normandy, today we celebrate the landing in Futuro Nazionale. These are people,' Vannacci added, 'who live in the territories, local administrators who have a following among the citizens'. With regard to the party assembly scheduled to take place in Rome, Vannacci clarified that 'our programme will be complete, we will not only talk about remigration, but also about schools, energy, and security, and we will illustrate this in the constituent assembly on 13 and 14 June'. For Vannacci today 'there is a fashion in parties, they call themselves post-ideological, they have turned from a party into the Radio Elettra School. Instead, a party must be based on values and principles that we do not renounce and translate into the programme'. And then he emphasises how 'the economy drives politics, we are for politics to make choices on the economy. The primacy of politics over economics must return'.
"The EU like Gargantua: it is never satiated"
"There is someone who says that as long as he is in government there will never be a patrimonial asset in Italia, but then in Brussels he votes for new resources and do you know what they are? They are taxes, more taxes for the Italians, Brussels is never satiated, it is like Gargantua,' said National Future leader Roberto Vannacci . 'On our red lines we are not willing to give in for any chair,' he stressed. Vannacci then spoke of a personal anecdote concerning his family and his daughters in particular: 'They are denying us our identity. My daughters, whom I proudly sent to public school, were not taught the national anthem when they were 14 years old', and 'in the city where the massacre was carried out by an Islamist, it is today's news that the mayor has made the children in a class sing Free Palestine, probably the same children who were not taught the national anthem', concluded the National Future leader.
Furgiuele: 'Too much disappointment for this I leave the League'
"Return to Camelot": this is the title of a long Facebook post by Domenico Furgiuele, MP who says goodbye to the League to join Futuro nazionale. "There are moments in life when you have to have the courage to leave what you love when you no longer recognise it. After twelve years, I am leaving the League. It is not a sudden decision,' he explains. 'It is a meditated choice, postponed several times. I searched within myself and in discussions with those who have been dealing with the party in recent times, for reasons to stay, but I found none. In February, I decided to put my faith in the words of the Secretary, to whom my gratitude goes for the path he had taken, but nothing has changed. I asked my militant community to find a motivation, a foothold to stay, but nothing! Too much bitterness, too much disappointment!", is Furgiuele's outburst. 'I have never chosen comfort. I choose the idea once again! I choose the trench once more. I choose combat once again. I choose General Roberto Vannacci. I do so with the affection that binds me to two men I consider brothers, Rossano Sasso and Edoardo Ziello. With the certainty that there will be many other fighters who will follow us all over Italia,' the Calabrian MP remarks. From today, a new road begins'.
