Vannacci, new AI video: he intercedes with a fake Mattarella to secure a pardon for Roggero

A new video featuring Roberto Vannacci, depicted as the Roman general using artificial intelligence, in which he intercedes with a fictional President Sergio Mattarella to secure a pardon for Mario Roggero. The video is on the Instagram profile of the leader of Futuro Nazionale, who adds a few lines: ‘Pardon for Roggero’. And, following the symbol of clasped hands, the word ‘Amen’ and a link to the Change.org petition calling for clemency.

The video also features a woman resembling the President of the Republic’s daughter. After Vannacci’s proposal – in which he shows the Head of State a roll of paper – the word ‘Gratia’ lights up on the sheet. Then comes Mattarella’s decision in front of the statue of the blindfolded goddess of justice. Finally, we see Vannacci going to break the news to Roggero, whilst the jeweller, now a free man, is welcomed by the crowd and embraced by his wife.

Set to a backdrop of epic music, the footage begins with the advance of Robertus Vannaccius into the study of the man purported to be Mattarella, who is seated in senatorial robes. The general hands him a scroll bearing a red seal. Also awaiting the decision are other Romans resembling certain Fnv MPs such as Rossano Sasso, and Vannacci himself, his gaze downcast and anxious. Immediately afterwards, the word ‘Gratia’ appears on the document and bursts into flames for a few seconds. The official announcement comes thanks to the scales of Lady Justice: the pan on which the diadem – the symbol of the ‘yes’ to the pardon – has been placed weighs more. Whilst Roggero weeps, it is the general who personally announces the pardon to him, entering his cell, removing the chains from his wrists and escorting him out amongst the jubilant crowd. The final scene shows Roggero letting out a sigh of relief, embracing his wife, and the satisfied look on Vannacci’s face – and probably that of his wife too.

“Vannacci, you’ve already brought shame on your uniform, betrayed your country and broken your word; leave the President of the Republic out of your vulgar and childish ramblings. You clown,” comments Carlo Calenda, leader of Azione, on his social media.
