PlanRadar - a digital platform for the management of documentation, activities and communication in construction and real estate projects - has been chosen by the City of Vercelli to manage a real estate portfolio of municipally owned school buildings, with the aim of optimising facility management activities. This is the first agreement signed by the company with an Italian municipality since its entry into this market in 2021.
The partnership will give facility managers the possibility to streamline the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the school buildings in their portfolio directly from the PlanRadar platform. The Municipality's facility managers, who have received specific training from the company in the use and customisation of the platform, will have any maintenance work on the facilities concerned under control at any time via PC, tablet or smartphone.
PlanRadar will allow the technical offices of the Municipality of Vercelli, through the users of the school and institutional buildings, to report all faults or problems that require maintenance/repair work, even urgent ones, in order to restore the normal conditions of state and use of the premises of the buildings owned by the municipality.
Municipal operations staff will be able to communicate via smartphone the start of repair work, its completion or any problems in progress, also facilitating the scheduling of expenditure for ordinary building maintenance. But that's not all: the digitisation of facility management activities will make it possible to optimise inspections and checks of all kinds, with access to all the latest information on a single platform and in real time. Furthermore, it will be possible to create automatisms for ordinary maintenance and to speed up extraordinary maintenance operations when necessary.
"This is," said Fabio Arancio, regional manager Italy of PlanRadar, "an important signal, which demonstrates how our segment is strategic for the digitisation of our country's real estate, which is still mainly tied to pen and paper right from the construction phase. We hope that this important agreement will be the first of a long series'.
"The municipal administration is increasingly focusing on new communication methods that guarantee a more agile interaction and are in line with the digitisation projects of the public administration," emphasised the mayor of Vercelli, Andrea Corsaro. "The agreement with PlanRadar will allow us to report any malfunctions in municipal buildings to our technicians more quickly, in order to intervene more promptly.
